This piece is more current than most of my choices, but I cannot ignore great artwork like this one. I first was introduced to her work in an advertisement in Art in America magazine. Go find a high resolution copy of this and enjoy!
There will be a couple more painting by Rebecca Campbell coming to the list in the future.
Painter's Toast
Painter's Toast is purely for listing the best paintings that I have seen over the years. I will try to add one every day of the week. We'll see how that goes. Please let me know if you have favorites that I have not mentioned...ad a link or send me a high resolution copy of the painting you would like me to include.

Edward Hopper - Nighthawks (1942)
This is so well done. It's a classic! Taking a snapshot of a simple moment in time. I'm also attaching one of the best tributes I've seen from the end of an episode of That 70's Show

Vincent Van Gogh - Starry Night (1889)
I have always loved this piece. I can't help but stare and let myself be drawn into it. I don't see how anyone could not like it.

Arnold Bocklin - Villa by the Sea (1878)
I chose this image to start with because I have just recently found this artist's work. Arnold Bocklin's work is amazing, there will be a few more of his works on the list to come.
Let me know what you think of it.
